Where Are They Now?
The Story
We think the Belfast based Grenadiers Showband first came on the
scene in 1964, however, because the Belfast Telegraph
newspaper archives do not (at this time) go back that far, we can't
know how much they played in their home town before breaking out
across the country.
After the band broke up, Harry
would turn to the cabaret scene around the north, eventually turning
to a career in comedy which he would perform for the next twenty
plus years he would entertain fans with his comedy. In a sad turn of
events on October 23rd, 1996 (see story below), Harry would have a
special night in celebration of 50 years of entertainment and he
would pass away suddenly less than 2 weeks later on November 5th
1996.
