Title: chat shows Post by liamo on 05/06/06 at 20:59:33
There's an aspect of chat shows that puzzles and intrigues me. When a guest singer is on and performs a song, whether it be jazz, rap, country, pop, you name it, the host always says a great song or something to that affect. Every member of the studio audience applauds rapturously.
Surely, it's not possible, no matter how wide a range of musical tastes a person has, that every chat show host and every member of every studio audience, can love every type of music. Come on ;D |

There's your answer ;D So they're still using that antiquated system they were using back in the 60s 8)
Can't resist remarking, and I know I'm crossing two topics, But there's not much progress there ;D |

I got tickets to go to a t.v. entertainment show a few years ago at the N.I.A. in Birmingham. Before the show started, the compere told the audience that we would have a 'warm up'. I thought that this meant 'of the show'. About twenty people came out and stood in various areas of the arena and we had to follow their instructions ie. when they raised their arms - the audience cheered., when they clapped, then we also clapped. This went on for 15 minutes before the show even started. What the t.v. viewer doesn't see on these pre-recorded shows is all this 'background' stuff that the audience are asked to do. Also, they 'threaten' to put the cameras on you if you don't clap, cheer etc. The next time you watch a 'live' programme...watch out for the 'warm-up' crew. :)
