By the way...Trisha I think you mentioned radio calorline peeps...It was in fact Chris Cary who was a founder of Caroline, then worked with Luxembourg and on to Dublin to launch Radio Nova and Kiss FM
I worked for him for about a year.....Interesting year!!!
They have a web site which has loads on it on Irish pirate stations and it covers caroline.
irishpirates.com
check it out

Apologies!

Apologies accepted. I wasn't referring to you as a moron, just someone else! Paul Burnett was just a D.J. on Caroline & Luxy. Many of the D.J's on Caroline moved to Luxy when the authorities eventually traced them. I believe he has a Saturday slot here on Radio Northampton - must check it out. Oh...Maybe the Morning was released by two singers. Sunny Leslie ('78 -'83 on Luxy) was one & Marian Montgomery ('70's) was the other if that's any help.  I think it's the Steve Conway one that Liam has.  :)

Hello. Sorry, it's not Steve Conway. I have Brendan Bowyer singing it on his last album "On Higher Ground". As soon as I can I'll type the lyrics and put them on the forum ;)

Did you know that Steve Conway's real name was Walter Groom? He died aged just 31. Just a bit of trivial info.... ::)

At The End Of The Day.  Lyrics.

As Per The Recording I Have

At the end of the day just kneel and say
Thank you Lord for my work and play
I tried to be good for I know that I should
That's my prayer at the end of the day.

So when the new dawn begins to break
Just lift up your eyes, let your heart awake
Be ready to meet what the day has to send
And be ready to greet every man as a friend.

Nobody knows what a power you have found
So do what you can for the others around
Carry them high when they seem to be low
As on your way you go.

Repeat--- At the end etc.

Just thinking, it'd be a great place if we all did that ;D
Just thinking also, I never knew there were as many ould sentimentals like myself around ;D

My thoughts are ...that if we can all remember the 'showband' era, then none of us are Spring Chickens...Summer or Autumn ones  - perhaps!... ;D. Also..well done Liam...those song words are truly inspiring. ;)

Hi. Strange that it sees the 'male hen' word as unacceptable, yet it allows other words (which I won't repeat).... As for Radio Caroline, it went off air in 1968 (I think) for a long time. Because it was based out in the North Sea, the authorities had a problem trying to trace it. Eventually they did & the two ships were towed to Holland. All the D.J.'s moved on elsewhere - many to Radio Luxy or BBC. I believe that Caroline is onshore now but with lesser known jocks. How sad...but I read somewhere that Irish listeners can get it on channel 927. Give it a try eddy & let us know.
