Has anyone ever heard of a musician called Stewart McDonald (or it may have been Stuart McDonald)?

Hi,

I worked with Stewart in the short-lived 'New Dreams' back around 1970. Stewart hailed from Scotland and was a very talented and entertaining fellow. His background was in Variety/Concert Party and he knew his business.
I next encountered Stewart playing a leading role in the Gaiety Theatre Pantomime with Maureen Potter(I was in the Pit Band)
I know he worked the cabaret circuit for a while after that, before (as far as I know) returning to his native Scotland.

I seem to remember he was somehow involved with Maxi, Dick and Twink (Pre "Zip up your M*****y days)

Might have been in their backing band, I'm not certain.

We never recorded anything. Mick Qunn put the band togethe when the original band broke up, I was working the American Clubs in Germany when I got a phone call from Mike Nolan to tell me he'd recommended me for the bass gig.
We rehearsed a lot and the band was actually very good, however no gigs materialised and the New Dreams soon sank without trace.
