I'm writing on behalf of the Cork Folklore Project, a community based oral history project based in Cork City.

Back in the early days of the project one of our researchers conducted a number of interviews with members and relatives of some Cork showbands

We have digitised the interviews are working to make clips from some of our collections, including the showband interviews, available online. We plan to include some images with the clips.

The interviews we have as part of the collection are:

Seán Lucy and Terry McCarthy of the Dixies

Tommy Rooney of the Second City Jazz Band

Pat Nolan who played with the Viceroy Show Band and Victor Show Band

Liam Foley of the Donnie Collins show band

Frances McCarthy and Betty O’Mahony, wife and daughter of Christy O’Mahony who played bass with the Dixies

We would be grateful if anyone might have images of the musicians that we can use or might have contact details for someone who does.
