New bands in Ireland ? They,re as scarce as hens teeth!! Sure there plenty of" them things that Louis Walsh  operates" and a heap of them Country,n Irish posers, that all sound the same , but nothing new like Paddy Cole  or Silkwood  Naw, you wont get any of them..

There is a lot of fine young talent around the Irish music scene at present.  If they get the opportunities and the support I'm sure some of the artists will develop and progress. Paddy Cole NEW !!!  Paddy has been around more years than he cares to remember and who are Silkwood?

I merely used Paddy Cole as an example as to the type of music he played ie: jazz swing etc. and Silkwood are a 5 piece from Galway /Tuam who are resident every Sunday night in the Salthill Hotel. The term band these days can be very "elastic", It can be stretched in many ways , from the cowboy hat  mid Atlantic accent shower to the so called boy and girl " bands" with not a live musician in sight. But in my opinion this country is being swamped by this Country, n, Irish syndrome , They all sound the bloody same .
