Many showband heads would have known Matt Druscoll who was well known as a bouncer at the Top Hat in Dun Laoghaire and the Arcadia in Bray and in charge of security in many of the Ballrooms and clubs  in Dublin.
Matt contacted testicular cancer about three years ago and suffered greatly until his death earlier this year
Matt worked for Matt Byrnes ,Tom Costello, Bill Fuller and many others R I P

Sorry to hear of Matt's passing. It seems that with every passing day, we lose a little more of the history that was the showband scene. Our prayers go out to his family and friends. Thanks for the news.
