I visited the above mentioned web-site & it is rather impressive. I was surprised though that there wasn't a chart section on solely Irish performers. I enquired about this & although they hadn't thought of including it, it's something they may do in the future.  :)

God bless your innocent but if we go back in time we had Larry Gogans first book on the irish charts back in 79 and then for the want of a better word an updated version  some 13 years later and now again near enought to 25 years later we have at best THE  :-* best we are ever going to get in our lifetime lets be thankful with what we got as the song goes.
I have asked and there will be NO book .alpineseven

Thank you for your words of wisdom TP. However, when I contacted the above mentioned web-site, I didn't ask about a book, just if they had considered an online chart based solely of Irish performers. Y'see, I haven't lived in Ireland since '78, so I'm unaware of books published about the topic. Hope this sorts out any mix-ups about my comment.

That kinda clears the thing for me. I couldn't , for the life of me, see where a book came into it :-[

A fan of Frankie Valli & the  Four Seasons are you? The words you're looking for are : ' Let's hang on to what we've got. Don't let go girl, we've got a lot.....' Thanks TP!  ;D

Funny you should mention Frankie Valli & The Four Seasons he was the last real major star i saw in The Point when tickets were affordable and you got value for money and they sounded  just like the records good god that was back in the early 90s.I must be getting old.alpineseven :-*

Trisha and TP, Yis are terrible. This tread had all the makings of a good row, well at least a heated discussion. I was really looking forward to it. Now the two of you get all civil with each other ;D

:D :D :D hi everyone,I had a look at the irishcharts site, very interesting,  must email  the site to   Lola, ex New Blues, she had one entry on the site, suprised that Carole or Nicola Kerr never charted,Ireland has produced some great singers,it would have  been nice to have seen some other girls in the charts other than Tina or Gina!

I'm just finding my way around that site....There are other female Irish singers mentioned on it. I went into the 'Search Charts' section & typed in a variety of names. I found Kelly & the Nevada, Murphy & the Swallows, Eileen Reid, Terry Mahon, even Maxi, Dick & Twink got a mention. It shows the song title, year of release, highest position in the chart & how many weeks it was there. However, I'd still like to see a separate chart for Irish male & female performers sometime... online! ;D
