I too was sad to hear of the death of Joe Dolan, the showband legend, whos fame extended beyond Ireland, people should never forget the contribution which the Mullingar man made to irish music, especially the showbands. :-[

Shocked to hear of Joe Dolans death.
Yet another legend has gone.
That Showband in the sky must be fantastic!

It was very upsetting to hear of Joe's passing.
I got to know Joe way back in the late 60's and he was a great guy as well as one of the best Irish entertainers ever to grace the stage.
He was the one we all looked up to.
He will be missed.
Rest in Pace, you will forever live on, Alan Carr.

Hi Tony Kelly here from MTK Records. I was at Joe's Funeral as I knew Joe from the old showband days in England, we had many a late night, but I can honestly say without any fear of contradiction that Joe Dolan was Irelands Top Entertainer. His shows were electric and he was always dressed to perfection and gave each show 100 % and after the show he alway had time for his fans. I brought out a CD last year called "Bringing Back the Showband Years with Irelands Very Best", and I only picked the best and I put Joe on it and am I glad now that I did. I will never forget Joe Dolan and May he Rest in Peace.

Oh no, how sad, I sang backing vocals on two of his hit singles...it's you it's you it's you and more and more.
I had no idea. I just happened to check in from another message that was sent to me. My most sincere condolences to all his close friends and family.
