Patrick Hoye sent us a copy of the obituary for trumpeter Mike Nolan, who sadly passed away on January 9th at the age of 61. Mike played with Billy Brown in 1971, then joined the Pacific Showband and went to Canada with The Dublin Corporation. His recent years were spent playing jazz, his first love. He played with many of the Irish jazz greats including Louis Stewart and Johnny Wadham. Our prayers go out to his family and friends. The full story can be read at the "In The News" section.

I was very sad to hear the news of Mike's passing. I knew him back in the early 70's. He played in the orignal line-up of Stage 2 wtih Danny Ellis on Trombone and Dermot Ryan on Sax. When He moved on I replaced him on trumpet, they were very hard shoes to fill, he was a wonderful horn player. He will be missed.
