TP...Without getting too technical, may I ask: Are you referring to the BCR's second hit single or the second single that didn't get anywhere? All of their 'hit' singles were produced by either: Phil Coulter & Bill Martin, Colin Fretcher, Harry Maslin, Phil Wainman or Muff Winwood (of Spencer Davis, Traffic etc. fame).  8)

Well now Trisha this is what happens when you set a question from memory.Change the word produced and replace it with the word arranged. The record in question was their second hit Remember from 74.So what showband member arranged that hit. FYI foks - after the Capitol, he moved to London. John arranged AND produced a lot of the Coulter/Martin work (without credit) and was involved with many of the Mickie Most/Coulter projects. The B side of the (Tony) KENNY single "Heart Of Stone" was a demo that John had recorded; it was his own song, he played most of the instruments and sang it  - and the snare was a briefcase!
When he abandoned London for the charms of Mohill in Leitrim, he did a lot of production work for EMI - Cahir O'Doherty, Jamie Stone, among others, and he got a lot of session and theatre work as a bass player.  He was (sorry - is!) a brilliant bass player and singer. And a gentleman.

While on the subject of John Drummond his single with The Capitols ( thats how it appears on the record label ) called Monkey Time the old Curtis Mayfield song from 1968 is much sought after by those Northern Soul collectors. The same song was recorded by The Crickets Showband and released on the Star Club label only in Germany back in 1965. Shocked Shocked Shocked
