George Moody was born in Belfast on 25 November 1942 and started his musical career in the rock 'n' roll and skiffle era. He began singing while still at school and was an established attraction at local dance halls and social functions by the timer he was 14.

Around that time, he won a talent contest in the local Mecca Ballroom as a solo act and within a matter of months won a second contest, this time fronting his own band The Matadors. The group subsequently toured Ireland playing concerts and ballrooms for several years until George decided to try his luck as a solo artist moving to England.

I have looked at the picture of the Matadors here and don't see George in the line up. I know he was in two other showbands but have no idea what they were.  Does anyone have any information about what bands he might have been in.
