Murphy of the Swallows in 1973
Murphy and the Swallows
were formed by ex Premier Aces members, Johnny Carroll (trumpet), Jimmy O'Neil
(keyboards)
and Sonny
Ward (sax). After a few years as a country band, following
the summer of 1974, Jimmy and Johnny
hired Kevin Walsh, named him Magic, adopted
a new pop music format and became the Magic Band for the best part
of the next
decade.
