Majestic Ballroom, Mallow, Co. Cork

In 1962 Donie Collins and Jack O'Rourke announced the opening of a new ballroom in Mallow, Co. Cork.
The Majestic boasted a total floor space of 17,000 sq. ft, as well as a 10,000 sq yard car park for patrons. The band for the
opening night was Donie's band. Throughout its long history, the ballroom featured all the top names in music as
well as other events. The ballroom finally closed in 1990 with Brendan Shine and his band providing the entertainment.
In 1991, the ballroom was put up for sale (see below) but found no buyers, remaining for sale for several years. We're not sure when,
but appears in the early 2000's the ballroom was demolished to make way for the new Majestic Business Park. The photo from today
(below) bears no resemblance to the original hall
