Royal Showband in 1974
Following the departure
of Brendan Bowyer and Tom Dunphy who formed the Big Eight, the Royal carried on.
In this lineup from the 1974 Spotlight Annual, Derrick Mehaffey (formerly of The
Sounds) was fronting the band.
Left to right: Arthur Madden (RIP-keyboards), Michael Coppinger (sax), Charlie
Matthews (drums), Derrick Mehaffey (vocals),
Fintan Murphy (bass), Fergie Burke (front-guitar) and Mick Healy (trumpet?).
This was probably the last lineup of the band.
