Before the coming of U2, Van Morrison was Ireland's most famous international act. From humble beginnings
in the showband era, he formed the Belfast based beat group, Them in the mid 1960's and enjoyed success in England.
When he finally went solo, his brand of soul took him to the top of the music industry around the world.
