After representing Ireland in the Eurovision in 1967 and having a string of singles reach number 2 in the Irish Charts,
1969 was the year the Hoedowners broke through in a big way with a pair of number one singles -
Lonely Woods of Upton and When the Fields Were White With Daisies. It was to be the peak of their career as
they were their only number one singles the band released.
