Although Johnny started
playing in Ireland in the 1930's, his claim to fame for this website is the fact
that his Johnny Butler
Orchestra became the first Irish band to tour America in 1956. Since then,
Johnny has spent most of his time in the United States,
but he did toured extensively across ireland in the early 50's, long before the glamour
days of the showbands.
