The Story

After playing in the early 1950s with the Pat Moran Band (of the Four Provinces Ballroom, Dublin) and with Gay McIntyre's outfit, the young Dublin based Earl Gill was selected to lead a new resident band at the Palm Court Ballroom in Dublin, replacing Jack Barrett. The initial lineup included Harry "Sonny" Knowles (trombone), Frank Stokes, Paddy Boylan, Vincent Walsh, Ray Nelson, Jack Rogers, George Reilly (drums), and vocalist Dick Dorney. They made their debut November 18th, 1954.
