Hi

I've got a question about this recording, which if my information is correct, was a big hit in 1970 for The Times.  And rightly so - it's a lovely song.  I wonder if anyone can solve a puzzle though.

I know that The Times comprised Jim and Tommy Swarbrigg, and that this lovely track was written by Tommy.  I recently bought a 2CD called "Louis Walsh's History of Irish Pop", and this features a recording of "Looking Through the Eyes of A Beautiful Girl" from 1970, but the artist attribution on the CD is "The Swarbriggs".

Is this the same recording as "The Times" version, or did the Swarbrigg boys do two recordings - one under their own name and one calling themselves The Times?  Maybe it is just a mistake on the Louis Walsh CD!

Anyway, I'd be most interested if anyone could shed any light on this puzzle!

By the way, can anyone recommend a good compilation CD of The Times recordings?  Or a compilation CD of the Showband scene more generally - with a particular focus on the late 60s and early 70s.  Thanks!

Peter
