You may be interested to know that your photograph of Mick Delahunty's orchestra in the 1960s is misdated. My mother was the lady saxophonist; her name was Eileen Feeney; she was English with Irish roots; her stage name was Sloan and she definitely left Mick Delahunty's orchestra in 1958. My mother came to Mick Delahunty after working for Billy Kendrick and worked for him for a lot of the 50s. She played alto and tenor sax and could read music, which Mick could not. There are similar photographs in her press books so the dates are kind of ingrained in my childhood consciousness.

I was told Mick Delahunty went to America, my mother didn''t want to go and so got a summer season job in Fleetwood where she met my dad. She was busy in Bolton with six children during the 1960s. My godfather Larry Frey (he also lived in Bolton and was an old friend of my mother's) is the large gentleman in the front row. I recognise him from photographs as he died when I was a small child.
